Vom 17. September bis 17. Oktober 2009 zeigt die Galerie Slavik die Ausstellung „Schmuckkunst – Erzählkunst“ von Margit Jäschke und Georg Dobler.
Sie ist eine Wandlerin zwischen den (Kunst-)Welten, die 1962 geborene und in Halle lebende Malerin, Plastikerin und Schmuckkünstlerin Margit Jäschke. In ihren aktuellen Arbeiten wählt sie als Handlungsraum die im 17. Jahrhundert in Japan entstandene „Gedichtform“ des Haiku.
In dieser fernöstlichen Poesie, deren Präzision, Klarheit und Reduziertheit, erkennt Jäschke ein Anliegen ihrer Arbeit. Die Wahrhaftigkeit, die sie auch in ihren Arbeiten eingelöst findet, verhilft dem fertigen Stück, seine besondere Aura zu entwickeln, wie zum Beispiel bei der Brosche „Piano“, aus gegossenem Silber und Elfenbein.
Der in Berlin lebende, international renommierte Schmuckkünstler Georg Dobler, Jahrgang 1952, repräsentiert mit seinen Arbeiten nicht nur ein außergewöhnliches Oeuvre, sondern auch ein Stück weit moderne Schmuckgeschichte. Nahe an der Natur orientiert, verbinden die floralen Broschen Doblers künstlerische Ausdruckskraft und Anmut. Bei der Brosche „Rote Blüten“ entsteht eben eine solche Blüte aus Silber, Lack und einer grauen Perle.
Diese Eigenschaften ließen die Schmuckstücke bei ihrem ersten Auftauchen vor 20 Jahren manchem suspekt erscheinen. Ästhetik und Naturalismus im Werk eines international führenden Schmuckmachers der Avantgarde an der Wende zum 21.Jahrhundert? Heute ist erkennbar, dass die naturalistische Formensprache Bausteine seines persönlichen Erzählstils sind, der Schönheit zulässt und sie zu seinem Thema macht.

From 17 September to 17 October 2009 Galerie Slavik presents Margit Jäschke and Georg Dobler in the exhibition “Jewellery art – the art of storytelling”.
Margit Jäschke, a painter, sculptress and jewellery artist born in 1962 and resident in the German town of Halle, is a wanderer between the various worlds of art. The artistic framework and sphere of action she has chosen for her current works is the Japanese Haiku, a mode of poetry dating back to the 17th century.
The precision, perspicuity and reduction of form that characterise this far eastern poetic diction are the central focus and inspiration behind Jäschke’s works. The principle of truthfulness reflected in her works gives a very special aura to the jewellery she creates, such as the cast silver and ivory brooch “Piano”.
The works by Georg Dobler, an internationally renowned jewellery artist born in 1952 and resident in Berlin, are exhibits not only of a truly exceptional oeuvre, but representative of a whole era in the history of contemporary jewellery art. Taking their bearings from nature, his floral brooches impress with their gracefulness and expressive power. “Red flowers“ is a brooch made of silver, lacquer and a grey pearl showing a bud just unfolding to full bloom.
Dobler’s signature characteristics may have seemed somewhat strange when he first coined this style 20 years ago. An aesthetic and naturalistic approach by a leading international avant-garde jewellery artist at the threshold of the 21st century? Today we are able to see that his naturalistic idiom is part of his very personal narrative style. He creates scope for beauty and makes it his central theme. |
