Peter Sandbichler (*1964) is a conceptual sculptor whose work links sociopolitical issues with fundamental aspects of sculptural aesthetics—addressing questions of surface, space, and time as well as materiality, form, and process. Working across different media, he creates pieces ranging from small-scale sculptures and expansive objects to installation-based constellations and architectural interventions in public space. Operating at the threshold between controlled precision and calculated unpredictability, Sandbichler engages with structures, ornaments, and grids, which he analyzes, deconstructs, and reconfigures into new orders. works
Parallel to the exhibition, Peter Sandbichler is featured at Albertina Vienna with the site-specific intervention Ornamentale Verschränkung (2025). The work will be on view from December 11, 2025, to March 22, 2026, as part of the exhibition The Fascination of Paper. more info
