Vernissage: 3. April 2001, 18-20 Uhr

April 3rd to May 5th 2001
Exhibition opening: April 3rd 2001, 6-8 pm.

The artist is presentDavid Walkers jewellery explores the notion of space and volume, surface and plane expressed by means of multiple layers and intersecting points. It makes reference to the steel structures of bridges, reinforced concrete buildings, scaffolding and the skeletal framework of aircraft wings. From the logical geometry of such engineered structures they progress towards the organic, sequential layers that make up a CAT scan, or the seismic shockwaves that probe and reveal underground rock formations.

Through his recent jewellery David Walker explores ideas that accept the new landscapes mapped out by science and technology. His references to these abstract means of experiencing today`s world relies on an intuitive interpretation which hints at the ethereal nature of our digital world yet manages to realise poetic works of contemporary jewellery in silver, gold, stainless steel and titanium.
