Anlässlich der Wiener Festwochen wird für SchmuckliebhaberInnen ein Stück Himmel auf Erden in der Galerie Slavik wahr: Inspiriert von dem Titel „Knocking on heaven´s door“ überraschen Annamaria Zanella und Renzo Pasquale mit himmlischen Werken.
Annamaria Zanella liebt das Blau Giottos in der Cappella degli Scrovegni in Padua. Blau und Gold – die Farben der Himmelspforte in seinem jüngsten Gericht, aber auch die Farben von Zanellas faszinierender Halskette „Blue Crown“, die sich skulptural und dennoch federleicht wie ein Kragen um den Hals legt
Das Gold schlägt die Brücke zum Glanz der traumhaften Brosche „Aton“ von Renzo Pasquale. Der Künstler, Steinschneider und Gemmologe krönt sein Werk mit einem goldgelb schimmernden Quarz, der die Oberfläche zu durchbrechen scheint.
Beide Künstler überzeugen mit der hohen künstlerischen und technischen Qualität ihrer sehr konträren Arbeiten, die sich aber zu einem wunderbar harmonischen Ganzen fügen:

Knocking on Heaven’s Door

The Slavik Gallery is marking this year’s Vienna Festival with a piece of heaven on earth for lovers of fine art jewellery: an exhibition inspired by the song title “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” with truly heavenly works by Annamaria Zanella and Renzo Pasquale.
Annamaria Zanella loves the blue Giotto used in the Cappella degli Scrovegni in Padua. Blue and gold – the colours of the gates of heaven in Giotto’s Last Judgement – are also the colours of Zanella’s fascinating “Blue Crown” necklace, which lies upon the neck like a collar, sculptural but feather-light.
Gold brings us on to the divinely shining brooch “Aton” by Renzo Pasquale. Stone-cutter and gemmologist as well as artist, Pasquale crowned his work with a yellowish-gold wedge of quartz that seems to carve through the surface.
Common to these two artists’ contrasting jewellery is its high artistic and technical quality, which creates a wonderful harmony when they come together: Giotto’s blue, Bob Dylan’s song, jubilant putti on the ceilings in Prince Eugene’s winter palace, and our gallery only a few moments down the Himmelpfortgasse – open yourself to new surprises and let yourself be carried away into heavenly spheres!

The Slavik Gallery is saluting the spring with intoxicatingly colourful jewellery that is sure to banish all the greys of winter!
Our international artists show us the way into a world that is rich not only in colours but also in forms and materials. Georg Dobler is presenting a firework display of radiantly coloured small-scale sculptures. Silke Spitzer, winner of the Justus Brinkmann Prize, combines wood with linoleum to forge a red necklace that is both striking and very strong. And the brooches crafted by Heidemarie Herb bring back to life the long-forgotten lacework of our grandmothers’ times.
Come and enjoy a precious time of peace and recreation – tank up with strength and energy in the enchanting world of our jewellery creations!
